AfriForum lays criminal charges against Pres. Jacob Zuma, other high-ranking government officials
AfriForum today laid criminal charges against Pres. Jacob Zuma, Ajay Gupta, Tegeta and Eskom’s Board as well as against Mosebenzi Zwane, Minister of Mineral Resources, and Lynne Brown, Minister of Public Enterprises. This follows the release on Wednesday of the State of Capture report by the former Public Protector, Adv. Thuli Madonsela.
“The State of Capture report serves as prima facie evidence that the conduct of the above persons and officials may have been illegal and that they may possibly be guilty of a number of crimes, including, but not limited to fraud, theft, corruption and money laundering,” says Monique Taute, Head of AfriForum’s Anti-corruption Unit.
Taute also says that AfriForum is of the opinion that Zuma should be fired, because he has become an enormous embarrassment to the country.
AfriForum encourages the public to support the organisation’s fight against corruption by sending an SMS with their name and “Corruption” to 38312, which will donate R10 to the anti-corruption fund.
