AfriForum today released a report pertaining to the alleged capture of the criminal justice system, entitled \u2018Joining the Dots<\/em>\u2019, during a media conference in Centurion.<\/p>\n

According to the report, authored by Paul O\u2019Sullivan, President Jacob Zuma secured control over the criminal justice system to ensure that criminal charges against himself, his family members and their associates would be derailed.<\/p>\n

\u201cSince the criminal justice system has effectively been captured by criminals, it is highly unlikely that any sanctions will flow from this document if it is only filed with the police. The report will therefore be handed over to the Public Protector for further investigation,\u201d says Monique Taute, Head of AfriForum\u2019s Anti-corruption Unit.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Taute added that President Zuma has secured control over the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) and the Hawks. According to the report President Jacob Zuma, Vinesh Moonoo, Mthandazo Ntlemeza, Prince Mokotedi, Nkosinathi Nhleko and Shaun Abrahams could be criminally charged for racketeering, corruption and defeating the ends of justice.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese people should face criminal charges if they unlawfully and intentionally received \u2018gratification\u2019 as defined in The Prevention and Combating of Corrupt Activities Act, 2004 (Act No. 12 of 2004) in return for unlawfully derailing criminal cases against President Zuma and\/or his family members or their associates,\u201d Taute concluded.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

The public can support AfriForum\u2019s fight against corruption by sending an SMS with their name and \u201cKORRUPSIE\u201d to 38312 to contribute R10 to the anti-corruption fund.<\/p>\n
